MY HAWAIIAN HEART AND SOUL
MY HAWAIIAN HEART AND SOUL
Aloha Dear Friends:
This is my very first article in which I would like to share some wonderful information with all of you. Even though I was not born in Hawaii and am not Hawaiian, I have always wanted to learn to dance the beautiful and very graceful Hula (Auana) and also the ancient Hula which is called "Kahiko". I have been learning to dance Hula since September 1995 when I lost my very special and dearest Mother, Rose B. Andrade, who is now my very special Angel watching over me and my dearest Daughter, Stacey (in the photo that was taken on one of our trips to Hawai). In 1998, I joined a wonderful Halau in Cupertino, California, "Na Wai Ola" which means "The Living Waters" and our Kumu Kau'i Isa-Kahaku really represents what the Aloha Spirit is to all of her students and everyone she meets. The Hawaiian culture is so beautiful because you feel so welcome, the beautiful Aloha Spirit which is really needed in our troubled times and has helped me during some very difficult times of sadness. I hope that in reading what the Aloha Spirit means...... the words will bring a smile and a feeling of inner peace to everyone who reads it:
